Carminda Rocha
and Caitlin Morin Earn
Little East Women’s Tennis Honors |

Providence, RI— Rhode
Island College senior Carminda Rocha (East Providence, RI) was
named the Little East Conference’s Women’s Tennis Player of the
Week while freshman Caitlin Morin (Westerly, RI) was named
the Little East Conference’s Women’s Tennis Rookie of the Week. |

Rocha was a perfect 4-0
at number-two singles and doubles last week, while Morin posted a
2-1 record last week with both victories coming at the number-three
doubles position. On the season, Rocha is 2-1 (.667) in singles and
1-2 (.333) in doubles for 2.5 points on the season. She is now just
five singles wins away from the RIC all-time record. Morin has
posted a 1-3 (.250) singles record with a 2-2 (.500) doubles mark
for 2.0 points on the season. |

Rocha is a music
education major and a 1999 graduate of East Providence High School.
Morin is an elementary education major with a special education
minor and a 2003 graduate of Westerly High School. |

Head Coach Kelly Lange’s
team is 2-3 (1-0 LEC) on the season. In upcoming action, RIC
will travel to Wentworth on Monday, Sept. 22 and Castleton State
College on Friday, Sept. 26, before hosting the University of
Southern Maine on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 1 p.m. |
