Rhode Island College Men’s Cross Country
Update #5

Providence, RI-- Head Coach Kevin Jackson’s team competed at the Tri-State Championships on Saturday, Oct. 4 hosted by CCRI. The Anchormen placed first with a score of 46. WPI finished second with a score of 65.

Freshman Eric Lonergan (North Kingstown, RI) was the top RIC runner at the Tri-State Championships, placing second with a time of 27:09. He finished 31^st with a time of 30:34 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational on Sept. 27. Lonergan was the top RIC runner at the Ocean State Invitational on Sept. 11, placing third with a time of 28:10.  He finished 41^st with a time of 29:37.64 at the Hayseed Classic on Sept. 6.

Junior Joe Parenteau (Smithfield, RI) placed sixth at the Tri-State Championships with a time of 28:11. He was the Anchormen’s top runner placing fifth with a time of 28:22 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational on Sept. 27. Parenteau finished sixth with a time of 28:55 at the Ocean State Invitational on Sept. 11. He was the Anchormen’s top runner at the Hayseed Classic on Sept. 6, placing 26^th overall with a time of 28:39.56.

Junior Matt Faria (Seekonk, MA) placed eighth at the Tri-State Championships with a time of 28:32. He finished 40^th with a time of 31:39 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational Sept. 27. He placed 127^th with a time of 30:09 at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 20. He finished 65^th with a time of 32:27.26 at the Hayseed Classic on Sept. 6.

Sophomore Manny Karngar (Providence, RI) finished 13^th at the Tri-State Championships with a time of 29:01. He placed 12^th with a time of 29:01 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational on Sept. 27.

Senior Mike Basilico (Johnston, RI) placed 17^th finished at the Tri-State Championships with a time of 29:14. He finished 21^st with a time of 29:45 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational on Sept. 27. He placed eighth with a time of 29:51 at the Ocean State Invitational on Sept. 11.

Freshman Javon Partin (Providence, RI) placed 21^st with a time of 29:28 at the Tri-State Championships. He finished 22^nd with a time of 29:56 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational on Sept. 27. He placed 126^th with a time of 30:02 at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 20. He finished 11^th with a time of 30:34 at the Ocean State Invitational on Sept. 11.

Sophomore Tim Goodwin (Warwick, RI) placed 33^rd with a time of 30:28 at the Tri-State Championships. He finished 14^th with a time of 29:28 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational on Sept. 27. He was the top RIC runner at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational, placing 85^th with a time of 28:38 on Sept. 20. He finished seventh with a time of 29:06 at the Ocean State Invitational on Sept. 11.

Junior Josh Precourt (Woonsocket, RI) placed 51^st with a time of 31:25 at the Tri-State Championships. He placed 47^th with a time of 32:37 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational on Sept. 27. He finished 153^rd with a time of 31:39 at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 20. He placed 19^th with a time of 32:27 at the Ocean State Invitational on Sept. 11.

Freshman Andy Neil (Warwick, RI) placed 57^th with a time of 32:27 at the Tri-State Championships. He placed 34^th with a time of 30:57 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational on Sept. 27. He finished 148^th with a time of 31:20 at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 20. He placed 60^th with a time of 31:56.47 at the Hayseed Classic on Sept. 6.

Senior Tim Rudd (Warwick, RI) placed 17^th with a time of 29:31 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational on Sept. 27. He finished fifth with a time of 28:49 at the Ocean State Invitational on Sept. 11. He placed 27^th with a time of 28:39.71 at the Hayseed Classic on Sept. 6.

Senior Rob Wahnon (Framingham, MA) finished 58^th with a time of 38:32 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational on Sept. 27. He placed 82^nd with a time of 35:39.59 at the Hayseed Classic on Sept. 6.

In upcoming action, RIC will compete at the New England Open Championships, at Franklin Park (MA) on Friday, Oct. 10 at 3 p.m.
