Providence, RI--The
Rhode Island College Department of Intercollegiate Athletics,
Intramurals and Recreation held its annual Winter Banquet at RIC’s
Donovan Dining Center on Monday, Mar. 22 to honor those
student-athletes who participate in varsity winter athletics. Each
sport gave out their Most Valuable Player Award. |

Senior
Tim Rudd (Warwick,
RI)
was named the men’s indoor track and field team's MVP. This season,
Rudd placed 13th in the 800 meters with a time of 1:59.71 at the ECAC
Div. III Championships on Mar. 6. Rudd ran a season-best time of
1:54.50 in the 800 meters at the New England Open Championships on
Feb. 28. He earned All-New England honors in two events at the N.E.
Championships on Feb. 21. Rudd placed seventh in the 800 meters with a
time of 1:57.47 and eighth as part of the 4x400 meter relay team with
a school-record time of 3:28.14. He earned All-Alliance/Little East
honors in four events at the Alliance/Little East Championships on
Feb. 14. Rudd placed second in the 600 meters with a school-record
time of 1:24.52, second in the 1,000 meters with a time of 2:36.77 and
first in both the 4x400 and 4x800 meter relay with times of 3:32.97
and a school record 8:27.78, respectively. He finished fifth in the
mile with a season-best time of 4:26.60 at the Harvard Invitational on
Dec. 13. He placed first in the 1,000 meters with a season-best time
of 2:36.67 at the Alden Invitational on Dec. 6. Rudd leaves RIC
holding school records in the 600, 1,000, 1,500, and 3,000 meters. He
is also a member of the RIC record-holding 4x400 and 4x800 meter relay
squad. |
