Providence, RI—Rhode Island
College junior pitcher Matt Brannon (Cranston, RI) hurled seven
innings, allowing only one earned run with seven strikeouts as the
Anchormen defeated Framingham State College, 10-1, in collegiate
baseball action. Brannon improves to 2-1 on the season with the
victory. |

RIC broke
the game open in the third inning as junior designated hitter Eric
Kelly (Fall River, MA) singled in three runs to give RIC an early
3-0 lead. FSC junior catcher Matt Vaccaro (Shrewsbury, MA)
doubled and scored for the Rams lone run in the fourth. |
|
|
|
RIC scored
two in the fifth, three in the sixth and two in the eighth to round
out the scoring. Junior left fielder Chris Higgins (Swansea, MA)
went 2-3 with three runs scored, one RBI a double and a triple. Junior
first baseman Brandon White (Foster, RI) went 3-3 with two runs
and three RBI. |

pitcher Lee Diamantopoulos (Shrewsbury, MA) took the loss and
falls to 0-2 on the year. |
