PANTHERS BLITZ ANCHORWOMEN, 18-3

            Providence, RI--Plymouth State University scored three unanswered goals in the first 5:10 and never looked back as the Panthers defeated Rhode Island College, 18-3, in collegiate women's lacrosse action. PSU stays unbeaten with a 10-0 overall record and is 5-0 in the Little East Conference. RIC falls to 4-6 overall and 0-4 in the LEC.

PSU senior Katie Sheridan (West Sayville, NY) scored a game-high three goals and added two assists for five points. Freshman Meg Cupoli (Southboro, MA) scored twice and assisted on three goals for five points as well. Senior Jill Matteson (Chatham, MA), sophomore Nicole Evans (Scituate, MA) as well as freshmen Amanda Spadafora (Saratoga Springs, NY), SeaSea Fuhrman (Lakewood, CO), Andrea Pinault (Framingham, MA), each scored twice in the win. Senior goalie Carmen Villanueva (East Shodack, NY) played the first half and made six saves to earn the win. Freshman Suzie Lilakos (Stratham, NH) played the second half and stopped two shots.

For RIC, freshmen Brittany Rosen (Derry, NH), Caitlin Gavin (Portsmouth, RI) and Shana Griffin (Barre, VT) each scored in a losing effort. Freshman goalie Micaela Morris (Barrington, RI) made seven saves.

In upcoming action, RIC will host Castleton State on Sunday, Apr. 18 and Roger Williams on Monday, Apr. 19.
