Providence, RI--Rhode Island College snapped a four-game losing
streak with a convincing, 16-0, win over winless Castleton State
College in collegiate women's lacrosse action. RIC improves to 5-6
overall, while the loss drops the Spartans to 0-7 on the year. |

Junior
Danielle Beaudry (West
Greenwich, RI)
was the offensive star, scoring four goals with two assists for a
six-point afternoon. Freshman Caitlin Gavin (Portsmouth,
RI)
scored three goals and chipped in with an assist. Sophomore Crystal
Colagiovanni (Johnston,
RI)
had
three goals and junior Vicki Bilalyan (Cranston,
RI)
had two goals to pace the Anchorwomen's offense. Freshman goalie
Micaela Morris (Barrington,
RI)
wasn't tested often, but made a key save on a Spartan breakaway in the
waning seconds to earn her first collegiate shutout. Morris had four
saves on the day. |
