College downed Rhode Island College, 11-4, in collegiate baseball
action. WC improves to 16-14-1 on the season, while the loss drops RIC
to 11-13. |

Sophomore right fielder Bryan
Duplissie's (Swanzey, NH) grand slam home run in the top of the
fourth inning broke the game wide open. Junior left fielder Keith
Cooper (Swampscott, MA) went 3-6 with two runs scored, four RBI, a
double and a triple. The Lyons used their bullpen effectively,
throwing six different pitchers at the Anchormen. Junior starting
pitcher Matt Ponte (Fairhaven, MA) threw four innings, allowing
only one run in limited action. Freshman Chris McDonough (Weymouth,
MA) picked up the win (3-1) in relief. |

For the Anchormen, junior catcher
Eric Kelly (Fall River, MA) went 3-4 with one run scored and an
RBI. Junior starting pitcher Brandon White (Foster, RI) was
saddled with the loss (1-3). |
