Dana
Skorupa Named
Women's Outdoor Track and Field MVP
|
|
|
|
Providence, RI--The
Rhode Island College Department of Intercollegiate Athletics,
Intramurals and Recreation held its annual Spring Banquet at RIC’s
Donovan Dining Center on Monday, May 3 to honor those student-athletes
who participate in varsity spring athletics. Sophomore
Dana Skorupa (Cumberland,
RI)
was named the women's outdoor track and field team's MVP. |

Skorupa
earned All-New England honors in the 100 meter dash, placing fifth
with a time of 13.09, at the N.E. Div. III Championships on May 1.
Skorupa earned All-Alliance/Little East honors in five events and was
named the Little East Conference's Female Runner of the Week for her
performance at the LEC/MASCAC Alliance Championships on Apr. 24. She
placed first in the 200 meters with a time of 25.72, second in 100
meters with a time of 12.51, fourth as a part of the 4x100 meter relay
team with a time of 51.20, third as a member of the 4x400 meter relay
team with a time of 4:24.63 and fourth in the long jump with a
distance of 16’04.25’’. |

elementary education major and a 2002 graduate of Cumberland High
School. |
