Piette and Palazzo Earn All-ECAC Honors
in Men's Outdoor Track and Field
|
|
|
|
Providence, RI--Four
members of Head Coach Kevin Jackson's men's outdoor track and
field team competed at the ECAC Div. III Championships, hosted by
Williams College, on Saturday, May 15. The Anchormen tied for 29th
place out of 54 teams with a team score of 10.0. SUNY-Cortland won the
event with a team score of 73.0 |

Junior
Marc Piette (Woonsocket,
RI)
earned All-ECAC
honors in the hammer, placing third with a throw of 169’03”. Piette
earned All-New England honors in the hammer throw, placing eighth with
a throw of 164'08" at the N.E. Div. III Championships on May 1. He
earned All-Alliance/Little East honors by placing first in the hammer
throw with a distance of 171’07’’ at the LEC/MASCAC Alliance
Championships on Apr. 24. He also placed 15th in the shot
with a distance of 35’06.50’’ at the Alliance Championships.

Sophomore
Nick Palazzo (Providence,
RI)
earned All-ECAC honors in the hammer, placing fifth with a throw of
169’. Palazzo earned All-New England honors in the hammer throw,
placing sixth with a throw of 167'02" at the N.E. Div. III
Championships on May 1. He earned All-Alliance/Little East honors by
placing second in the hammer throw with a distance of 164’03’’ at the
LEC/MASCAC Alliance Championships on Apr. 24. |

Sophomore
Manny Karngar (Providence,
RI)
placed 11th in the 800 meters with a time of 1:55.43.
Karngar earned All-New England honors in the 800 meters, placing third
with a time of 1:55.24 at the N.E. Div. III Championships on May 1. He
earned All-Alliance/Little East honors in three events at the LEC/MASCAC
Alliance Championships on Apr. 24. He finished first in the 800 meters
with a time of 1:54.82, second in the 400 meters with a time of 49.50
and fourth as a part of the 4x400 meter relay team with a time of
3:29.35. |

Josh Precourt (Woonsocket, RI)
placed 23rd
in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 58.45. Precourt placed 19th in
the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 58.04 at the N.E. Div. III
Championships on May 1. He earned All-Alliance/Little East honors in
four events at the LEC/MASCAC Alliance Championships on Apr. 24. He
placed seventh in the 400 meters with a time of 52.81, fifth in the
400 meter hurdles with a time of 57.11, eighth as a part of the 4x100
meter relay team with a time of 46.30 and fourth as a part of the
4x400 meter relay team with a time of 3:29.35. |
