Rhode
Island College’s Dana Skorupa Earns LEC Women’s Track Athlete of the
Week Honors For Second Consecutive Week |
|

|
Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College sophomore Dana Skorupa (Cumberland,
RI)
was named
the Little East Conference’s Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for the
second consecutive week. |
|
|
|
Skorupa
finished third in the 400 meters with a time of 1:00.98 and sixth in
the 55 meters with a time of 7.59 at the Tufts University Invitational
on Jan. 24. |
|
|
|
She
finished first in the 200 meters with a time of 26.75 and second in
the 55 meters with a time of 7.50, both of which are new RIC records,
at the Wesleyan University Invitational on Jan. 17. She placed 18th
in the 400 meters with a time of 1:04:62 and ninth in the semi-final
round of the 55 meters with a time of 7.55 at the Yale Classic on
Saturday, Jan. 10. She finished eighth in the 400 meters with a time
of 1:01.03 at the Harvard Invitational on Dec. 13. She placed 11th
in the 55 meters with a time of 7.65. She placed tenth in the 200
meters with a time of 26.97 at the Alden Invitational on Dec. 6. |

She is an
elementary education major, with a concentration in special education,
and a 2002 graduate of Cumberland High School. |

|
In upcoming
action, Head Coach Kevin Jackson’s team will compete at the Southern
Maine Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 1 p.m. |
