Rhode Island College’s Manny Karngar Named Little East Conference
Men’s Track Athlete of the Week

 Providence, RI—Rhode Island College sophomore Manny Karngar (Providence, RI) was named the Little East Conference’s Men’s Track Athlete of the Week. This is Karngar's second such honor this season.

Karngar placed first in the 800 meters with a time of 1:54.92 at the Tufts Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 7.

For the season, he placed second in the 800 meters with a time of 1:59.99 at the Southern Maine Invitational on Jan. 31. Karngar placed third in the 200 meters with a time of 23.31 and second in the 400 meters with a time of 50.37 at the Tufts Invitational on Jan. 24. He broke two school-records by finishing first in the 200 meters with a time of 23.14 and first in the 500 meters with a time of 1:05.53 at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 17.

He is a finance major and a 2002 graduate of Shea High School.

In upcoming action, Head Coach Kevin Jackson’s team will compete at the Little East Conference/MASCAC Alliance Championships, hosted by Southern Maine, on Saturday, Feb 14.
