PILGRIM WRESTLING LEAGUE TITLE |

FOR SECOND
STRAIGHT YEAR |
|
Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College captured the Pilgrim Wrestling League title for the
second consecutive season by sweeping two matches at The Murray Center
on Tuesday night. RIC defeated Coast Guard, 24-23 in the evening's
first action, then outlasted Johnson & Wales, 21-20 in the squad's
last match to clinch the championship. |

Johnson & Wales
defeated Coast Guard, 37-15, in other action. All three teams came
into tonight's tri-meet with undefeated records in the Pilgrim League.
RIC improves to 15-7 overall and are 5-0 in the league. Johnson &
Wales suffers only its fourth loss of the season as the Wildcats fall
to 17-4 overall and 5-1 in the league. Coast Guard falls to 7-9
overall and 3-2 in the league. |

|
RIC still has one
league match left on the 2003-04 schedule when the Anchormen square
off against Bridgewater State on Saturday, Feb. 14 at Trinity. Even if
RIC loses, the Anchormen own the tiebreaker over JWU with the win
tonight. |
