Mooney and Barrette to Captain
Rhode Island College Women’s Tennis |

Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College senior Meghan Mooney
(North Scituate, RI)
and junior Liz Barrette (North
Providence, RI)
will captain the women’s tennis team for the 2004 season.
|
|
|
|
Mooney went 12-5
(.706) at number three singles and 12-4 (.750) at number one doubles
for 18.0 points last season. She was also tied for first on the team
in singles wins and was second in both doubles wins and points. Mooney
is currently sixth in career points at RIC, seventh in singles
victories and sixth in doubles victories. |

|
She is a
communications major and a 2001 graduate of Scituate High School. |
|
|
|
Barrette, a
co-captain last year, was 12-5 (.706) at number one singles and 13-4
(.765) at number one doubles for a team-high 18.5 points. Barrette
tied a school-record for a season with 13 doubles wins and was tied
for the team lead in singles wins. She is currently 13th in
career points all-time at RIC, 18th in singles victories
and ninth in doubles victories. |

She is a
physical/health education major and a 2001 graduate of the La Salle
Academy. |

|
|
Head Coach
Kelly Chartier’s team will open the season on Saturday, Sept. 4
when they host Salve Regina University at 1:00 p.m. |
