Rhode Island College Women’s Tennis Update #4 |

(6-0 Overall; 3-0 in the Little East Conference) |

RI--Head
Coach Kelly Chartier’s Anchorwomen are 6-0 overall and 3-0 in
the Little East Conference. The Anchorwomen had two matches last week
and were victorious in both of them. RIC defeated Springfield College,
7-2, on Thursday, Sept. 23 and beat
Castleton
State,
8-1, on Sunday, Sept. 26. |

RIC is currently
in the midst of a 12-match winning streak against Little East
Conference opposition. The Anchorwomen are 3-0 this year, were a
perfect 5-0 last year and won four straight after dropping the
conference opener vs.
Plymouth State
back on
Sept. 14, 2002. |

Senior captain
Meghan Mooney (North Scituate, RI) is 3-3 (.500) at number two
singles and 1-4 (.250) at number one doubles for 3.5 points on the
season. She has been named the LEC’s Player of the Week once this
season. |

Sophomore
Audrey Davis (Stroudsburg,
PA)
is 5-0 (1.000) at number three singles and is 5-0 (1.000) at number
two doubles for a team-high 7.5 points on the season. She has been
named the LEC’s Rookie of the Week twice this season. |

Junior captain
Liz Barrette (North Providence, RI) is 3-3 (.500) at number one
singles and 1-5 (.167) at number one doubles for 3.5 points on the
season. |

Samantha Hedden (Rumford,

3-1 (.750) in singles and 0-1 in doubles for 3.0 points on the season.
