Babat
and Beaudry to Captain
Rhode Island College Women’s Lacrosse |

Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College
seniors Erika Babat (North
Kingstown, RI)
and Danielle Beaudry (West Greenwich,
RI)
will captain the
women’s lacrosse team for the 2005 season.
|
|
|
|
Last season,
Babat played in 15 games, starting all of them. She compiled 60 ground
balls, 11 draw controls and nine caused turnovers. Babat is RIC’s
all-time leader with 121 career ground balls. |
|
|
|
She is an
elementary education major with a concentration in special education
and a 2001 graduate of North Kingstown High School. |
|
|
|
Last spring,
Beaudry was a Second Team All-Little East Conference selection. She
played in 15 games, starting 14 of them. She had 23 goals and a
team-high 15 assists for 38 points. Beaudry compiled 50 ground balls,
11 draw controls and seven caused turnovers. Beaudry’s 15 assists were
a school record for a single season and she is the program’s all-time
leader with 25 career helpers and 68 career points. Coming into this
season, Beaudry is also tied for the all-time lead in career goals
(43). |

Head Coach
Ryan Angel’s team is 1-0 overall and has yet to face a Little East
Conference opponent. RIC defeated Worcester State, 19-3, in their only
action so far this season. |
