Rhode Island College Women’s Lacrosse Update #5 |

(7-5 Overall; 0-5 in the Little East) |

Providence, RI--Head
Coach Ryan Angel’s team is 7-5 overall and 0-5 in the Little
East Conference. RIC’s seven wins are tied for the most in program
history. The Anchorwomen played four games last week, and won three of
them. RIC defeated Curry at home on Monday, Apr. 18, 16-12, before
going on the road and defeating Elms, 19-11, on Tuesday, Apr. 19. The
Anchorwomen defeated Nichols at home, 12-7, on Thursday, Apr. 21,
before having their three-game winning streak snapped with a, 12-9,
loss to LEC foe Western Connecticut. |

Sophomore center Caitlin Gavin (Portsmouth,
RI)
has played in 12 games, starting all of them. She has a team-high 75
points and a team-best 63 goals to go along with 12 assists. Her 63
goals and 75 points are new RIC records for a season. Gavin has also
compiled a team-high 135 shots, 105 on goal, 71 draw controls and 73
ground balls. She has been named the Little East Conference Player of
the Week once this season. |

Senior attack Danielle Beaudry (West
Greenwich, RI)
played in ten games, starting all of them. Beaudry broke her leg
against Elms on Apr. 18 and will be out for the remainder of the
season. Prior to being injured, she had compiled 29 points on 16 goals
and 13 assists. Beaudry registered 36 shots, 29 on goal, 36 ground
balls and 16 draw controls. |

Freshman attack Melissa Reggio (Commack,
NY)
has played in 12 games, starting all of them. She has 41 points on 28
goals and a team-high 13 assists. Reggio has compiled 78 shots, 61 on
goal, 34 ground balls and 17 draw controls. Reggio notched the
game-winning goals in RIC’s wins over Elms and Curry. |

Junior attack Crystal Colagiovanni (Johnston,
RI)
has played in 12 games, starting ten of them. She has 18 points on 17
goals and one assist. Colagiovanni has compiled 48 shots, 35 on goal,
37 ground balls and 20 draw controls. |

|
Freshman attack Krista MacKinnon (Exeter,
RI)
has played in 12 games, starting all of them. She has seven points on
six goals and one assist. MacKinnon has compiled 15 shots, 12 on goal,
26 ground balls and one draw control. |
|
|
|
Freshman attack Kerry McDevitt (Jamestown,
RI)
has played in 12 games, starting 11 of them. She has six points on
three goals and three assists. McDevitt has compiled five shots, four
on goal, 21 ground balls and one draw control. |

|
Freshman defender Leah Hayes (Coventry,
RI)
has played in 12 games, starting all of them. She has eight points on
five goals and three assists. Hayes has compiled 18 shots, 12 on goal
and 42 ground balls to go along with 18 draw controls. |

|
Freshman defender Marissa Kielbasinski (Windsor,
CT)
has played in ten games, starting eight of them. Kielbasinski has
compiled 26 ground balls and two draw controls. |

|
|
Freshman defender Erin Duffy (North
Dighton, MA)
has played in 12 games, starting eight of them. Duffy has compiled 14
ground balls and two draw controls. |
|
|
|
Freshman defender Sydney Culbertson (North
Kingstown, RI)
has played in 12 games, starting all of them. Culbertson has four
shots, three on goal, 38 ground balls and three draw controls. |

Senior defender Erika Babat (North
Kingstown, RI)
has played in 12 games, starting all of them. Babat has compiled 38
ground balls and six draw controls. |

|
|
Sophomore goalkeeper Micaela Morris (Barrington,
RI)
has played in 12 games, starting all of them. She has a record of 7-5
and has made 96 saves, logged a save percentage of .434 and has a
goals against average of 10.33. |

|
|
Freshman attack Kerry Donahue (Rehoboth,
MA)
has played in 11 games, starting six of them. She has two points on
one goal and one assist. She has 15 shots, nine on goal, 16 ground
balls and two draw controls. |
|
|
|
In upcoming action, the Anchorwomen will close out the regular season,
playing two games this week. RIC will travel to St. Joseph’s (CT) on
Thursday, Apr. 28 for a 4 p.m. tilt. The Anchorwomen will then finish
the regular season at home, and host their annual Senior Day
ceremonies on Saturday, Apr. 30 when they will square off against LEC
opponent Eastern Connecticut at 1 p.m. |
