Eastern Connecticut Pours It On RIC, 12-0
Game
Two is rained out |
Providence, RI—Eastern
Connecticut junior starting pitcher
Ryan DiPietro (Kensington, RI)
held the Rhode Island College batters hitless through six innings
before rain ended the game just as the top of the seventh was to begin
with the Warriors earning a 12-0 victory.
|
|
The Warriors
needed just two innings to score their runs, putting five runs on the
board in the top of the fourth and seven more in the top of the fifth.
Junior third baseman Zach
Mehrbach (Lyme, NH)
led the way at the plate by going 2-for-3 with a run scored and three
RBI. Sophomore center fielder
Randy Re (Danbury, CT)
also contributed to the Warrior cause by going 2-for-4 with a run
scored, two RBI and a home run in the top of the fifth inning.
DiPietro improved his record to 6-1 on the season as he struck out 11
of the 20 Anchormen he faced.

as he went just 4.1 innings, giving up eight hits and seven runs.
However, only three of his runs were earned. The loss drops Milano’s
