Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Update #6

Providence, RI--Head
Coach Kevin Jackson’s team had one competitor see action at the
New England Div. III Championships, hosted by Springfield College on
Friday and Saturday, May 6-7. RIC did not score as a team. Williams
won the meet with a team score of 168. |

Junior Manny Karngar (Providence,
RI)
placed 16th in the 800 meters with a time of 1:59.92. |
|
|
|
In other action this spring Karngar earned All-Alliance/Little East
honors in four events, placing second in the 400 meters, third in the
800 meters, third as part of the 4x400 meter relay and seventh as part
of the 4x100 meter relay with times of 50.28, 2:01.24, 3:33.39 and
45.22, respectively. He placed seventh in the 200 meters with a time
of 23.22 at the Solomon Husky Invitational on Apr. 23. He placed
first in the 800 meters with a time of 1:55.62 at the Albany
Invitational on Apr. 16. He placed third in the 400 meters and 11th
in the 1,500 meters with times of 50.21 and 4:19.44, respectively, at
the Snowflake Classic on Mar. 26. |

In upcoming action, RIC will compete at the New England Open
Championships, hosted by the University of New Hampshire on Friday and
Saturday, May 13-14. |
