Women’s Lacrosse Season Summary |

(8-7 Overall; 0-6 in the Little East) |

Ryan Angel’s team was 8-7 overall and were 0-6 (seventh place) in
the Little East Conference. RIC was selected to compete in the 2005
Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) N.E. Div. III Women’s
Lacrosse Tournament, the first post-season berth of any kind in the
program’s five-year history. |

RIC’s eight wins were a new
program record for a single season. The Anchorwomen also established
new program records for the most goals (177), assists (62), points
(239), shots (442), free position shots (99), draw controls (202) and
caused turnovers (112) in a season. |

|
|
Senior
defender Erika Babat (North Kingstown, RI) closed out her
collegiate career having played in 50 games, starting all of them.
Babat had one goal and one assist for two career points. She is second
all-time at RIC with 173 career ground balls and 52 career draw
controls. Babat is tied for second all-time with 25 career caused
turnovers. |

As a senior in
2005, Babat played 15 games, starting all of them. She had one assist
for one point to go along with 52 ground balls, nine draw controls, 11
caused turnovers and five pass interceptions. |

As a junior in
2004, she
played 15 games,
starting all of them. She compiled 60 ground balls, 11 draw controls
and nine caused turnovers. |
|
|
|
As a junior in
2003, Babat was named
the team’s MVP. She played in nine games, starting all of them. Babat
had 28 ground balls, three pass interceptions, three caused turnovers
and 16 draw controls. |
|
|
|
As a freshman
in 2002, she played in
11 games, starting all of them. She had one goal for one point, 33
ground balls, two caused turnovers, one pass interception and 16 draw
controls. |
|
|
|
Babat is an
elementary education major with a concentration in special education
and a 2001 graduate of North Kingstown High School. |
|
|
|
Senior attack
Danielle Beaudry (West Greenwich, RI) closed out her career
having played in 47 games, starting 45 of them. Beaudry had 59 goals
and 38 assists for 97 career points. She also had 120 ground balls, 14
caused turnovers and 52 draw controls. She is RIC’s all-time career
assist leader. |

As a senior in
2005, Beaudry played in ten games, starting all of them. She had 16
goals and 13 assists for 29 points. She also compiled 36 ground balls,
four caused turnovers and 16 draw controls. Beaudry broke her leg in
the game vs. Elms on Apr. 19 and missed the remainder of the season. |

|
As a junior in
2004, Beaudry
was named Second
Team All-Little East Conference. She played 15 games, starting 14 of
them. She had 23 goals and a team-high 15 assists for 38 points.
Beaudry compiled 50 ground balls, 11 draw controls and seven caused
turnovers. |
|
|
|
As a sophomore
in 2003, she played in
13 games, starting all of them. She 15 goals and six assists for 21
points, 24 ground balls, one pass interception, two caused turnovers
and 22 draw controls. |
|
|
|
As a freshman
in 2002, she played in
nine games, starting eight of them. She had five goals and four
assists for nine points, ten ground balls, one caused turnover and
three draw controls. |
|
|
|
Beaudry is an
elementary education major with a concentration in special education
and a 2001 graduate of Exeter-West Greenwich High School. |
|
|
|
Junior attack
Crystal Colagiovanni (Johnston, RI) played in 15 games, starting
13 of them. She had 22 goals and one assist for 23 career points.
Colagiovanni also compiled 40 ground balls, 20 draw controls and five
caused turnovers. |
|
|
|
Sophomore center Caitlin
Gavin (Portsmouth, RI) was named First Team All-Little East
Conference for the second straight season. Gavin played in 15 games,
starting all of them. She had 87 goals and 15 assists for 102 points.
Three of her goals were game-winners. She had 93 ground balls, 29
caused turnovers, 94 draw controls and seven pass interceptions. She
established new RIC single-season record in goals, assists, points,
shots, free position shots, ground balls, draw controls and pass
interceptions. |

Gavin once again virtually
re-wrote the RIC record book this spring. She tied the RIC record for
goals in a game with nine, reaching that mark twice this season on
Apr. 18 vs. Curry and again on Apr. 28 vs. St. Joseph. She established
a new RIC record for assists in a game with four helpers vs. Castleton
on Apr. 10 and with 12 points and 14 draw controls vs. St. Joseph on
Apr. 28. Her 11 ground balls vs. Elms on Apr. 19 was a new RIC record
for a game. |

|
Gavin is currently RIC’s
all-time leader in career goals, points, ground balls, free position
shots, draw controls, shots and pass interceptions. |
|
|
|
Sophomore
goalkeeper Micaela Morris (Barrington, RI) played in 15 games,
starting all of them. She had a record of 8-7 and made 120 saves,
logged a save percentage of .440 and recorded a goals against average
of 10.13. |
|
|
|
This season,
Morris registered RIC records with eight wins and 906 minutes in net,
and she also recorded the second-best goals against average in a
season (10.13) in program history. Morris now holds the RIC program
record for saves (266) and minutes played (1,803:10) in a career. |
|
|
|
Freshman
defender Sydney Culbertson (North Kingstown, RI) played in 15
games, starting all of them. Culbertson compiled 55 ground balls, 17
caused turnovers, four draw controls and four pass interceptions. |
|
|
|
Freshman attack
Kerry Donahue (Rehoboth, MA) played in 14 games, starting nine
of them. She had two goals and one assist for three points. She
compiled 20 ground balls, two draw controls and one caused turnover. |
|
|
|
Freshman
defender Erin Duffy (North Dighton, MA) played in 15 games,
starting 11 of them. Duffy compiled 20 ground balls, four caused
turnovers and two draw controls. |
|
|
|
Freshman
defender Leah Hayes (Coventry, RI) played in 15 games, starting
all of them. She had seven goals and six assists for 13 points. Hayes
compiled 55 ground balls, 19 caused turnovers, 27 draw controls and
eight pass interceptions. |
|
|
|
Freshman
defender Marissa Kielbasinski (Windsor, CT) played in 13 games,
starting 11 of them. Kielbasinski compiled one assist for one point to
go along with 30 ground balls, three caused turnovers, two draw
controls and two pass interceptions. |

Krista MacKinnon (Exeter, RI) played in 15 games, starting all
of them. She had eight goals and three assists for 11 points.
MacKinnon compiled 38 ground balls, six caused turnovers and three
draw controls. |

Kerry McDevitt (Jamestown, RI) played in 15 games, starting 14
of them. She had three goals and three assists for six points.
McDevitt compiled 27 ground balls, three caused turnovers and one draw

Melissa Reggio (Commack, NY) played in 15 games, starting all
of them. She had 32 goals and a team-high 18 assists for 50 points.
She compiled 49 ground balls, 20 draw controls and ten caused
