Rhode Island College Men’s Indoor Track & Field Update #1

Providence, RI--Head Coach Kevin Jackson’s team competed at the Alden Invitational, hosted by Brown University on Saturday, Dec. 4. No team scores were kept at the meet.

Junior Manny Karngar (Providence, RI) placed second in the 800 meters with a time of 1:54.68.

Sophomore Matt Goroza (West Warwick, RI) placed 23^rd in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.35 and 13^th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 58.82.

Sophomore Eric Lonergan (North Kingstown, RI) placed tenth in the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:50.14.

Sophomore John Martinelli (North Providence, RI) placed ninth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 55.24.

Freshman Greg Clark (Pawtucket, RI) placed fourth in the 1,000 meters with a time of 2:43.04.

Freshman Sam Gaye (Providence, RI) placed fifth in the 1,000 meters with a time of 2:50.51.

Freshman Yevgeny Kuo (Brookline, MA) placed 14th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.73 and 12^th in the long jump with a distance of 18’05.25”.

Freshman Yuri Kuo (Brookline, MA) placed 16^th in the 55 meter dash with a time of 6.99 and 15th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.96.

Freshman Mike Van Gieson (Foster, RI) placed sixth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:04.22.

Freshman Jordan Wright (Brookline, MA) placed tenth in the 55 meter dash with a time of 6.83, ninth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.79 and ninth in the long jump with a distance of 19’06.00”.

In upcoming action, the Anchormen will compete at the Harvard Invitational on Saturday, December 11.
