Rhode Island College Men’s Indoor Track & Field Update #2

Providence, RI--Head Coach Kevin Jackson’s team competed at the Harvard University Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 11. No team scores were kept at the meet.

Junior Manny Karngar (Providence, RI) placed fourth in the 400 meters with a time of 50.04. He placed second in the 800 meters with a time of 1:54.68 at the Alden Invitational on Dec. 4.

Freshman Jordan Wright (Brookline, MA) placed 13^th in the 200 meters with a time of 23.26 and 14^th in long jump with a leap of 5.96 meters. Wright placed tenth in the 55 meter dash with a time of 6.83, ninth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.79 and ninth in the long jump with a distance of 19’06.00” at the Alden Invitational on Dec. 4.

Senior Marc Piette (Woonsocket, RI) placed fifth in the weight throw with a distance of 14.30 meters.

Sophomore Eric Lonergan (North Kingstown, RI) placed 23^rd in the 800 meters with a time of 2:03.38. Lonergan placed tenth in the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:50.14 at the Alden Invitational on Dec. 4.

Sophomore John Martinelli (North Providence, RI) placed 41^st in the 400 meters with a time of 55.14 and 55^th in the 200 meters with a time of 24.68. Martinelli placed ninth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 55.24 at the Alden Invitational on Dec. 4.

Freshman Greg Clark (Pawtucket, RI) placed 31^st in the 800 meters with a time of 2:05.65. He placed fourth in the 1,000 meters with a time of 2:43.04 at the Alden Invitational on Dec. 4.

Freshman Yevgeny Kuo (Brookline, MA) placed 46^th in the 200 meters with a time of 24.35 and 21^st in the long jump with a leap of 5.76 meters. He placed 14th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.73 and 12^th in the long jump with a distance of 18’05.25” at the Alden Invitational on Dec. 4.

Freshman Yuri Kuo (Brookline, MA) placed 53^rd in the 200 meters with a time of 24.52. He placed 16^th in the 55 meter dash with a time of 6.99 and 15th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.96 at the Alden Invitational on Dec. 4.

Freshman Mike Van Gieson (Foster, RI) placed 30^th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:05.42. Van Gieson placed sixth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:04.22 at the Alden Invitational on Dec. 4.

Sophomore Dan Newman (Smithfield, RI) placed eighth in the high jump with a height of 1.86 meters.

Sophomore Bo Luong (Millbury, MA) placed 18^th in the long jump with a leap of 5.84 meters.

Sophomore Matt Goroza (West Warwick, RI) placed 73^rd in the 200 meters with a time of 25.67. Goroza placed 23^rd in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.35 and 13^th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 58.82 at the Alden Invitational on Dec. 4.

Freshman Sam Gaye (Providence, RI) placed fifth in the 1,000 meters with a time of 2:50.51 at the Alden Invitational on Dec. 4.

The Anchormen are off for finals and the holidays. They will resume the season at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 15.
