Dana Skorupa and Kelly Evans Earn Little East Honors

Providence, RI—Rhode Island College junior Dana Skorupa (Cumberland, RI) was named the Little East Conference Women’s Track Athlete of the Week and freshman Kelly Evans (Coventry, RI) was named the LEC’s Women’s Field Athlete of the Week for their performance at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 15.

Skorupa placed first in the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.68, second in the 200 meters with a time of 28.08 and first in the long jump with a leap of 4.87 meters.

She is an elementary education major with a concentration in special education and a 2002 graduate of Cumberland High School.

Evans placed second in both the high jump and long jump, with leaps of 1.42 and 4.69 meters, respectively.

She is secondary education with a concentration in biology and a 2004 graduate of West Warwick High School.

In upcoming action, RIC will compete at Tufts on Saturday, Jan. 22.
