Luke Emmons Named Pilgrim Wrestling League Wrestler of the Week

Providence, RI—Rhode Island College senior Luke Emmons (West Greenwich, RI) was named the Pilgrim Wrestling League’s Wrestler of the Week.

Emmons won both of his matches last week, including a 7-5 sudden victory decision over Roger Williams’ Andy Lacroix giving the Anchormen a 21-11 win and their 16^th consecutive Pilgrim League win.

Emmons is ranked second in the New England rankings at 141 lbs. He is 22-5 at 141 lbs. with 85 points, 38 takedowns, 14 reversals, five near-falls and five pins. Emmons placed second at 141 lbs. at the Roger Williams Invitational on Nov. 13 and at the R.I.T. Invitational on Dec. 4. He placed fourth at 141 lbs. at the Citrus Invitational on Dec. 29.

He is a management major and a 2000 graduate of Exeter-West Greenwich High School.

Head Coach Jay Jones’ team is currently ranked fourth in New England among Div. III institutions. The Anchormen are 13-2 overall, 8-0 against New England College Conference Wrestling Association (NECCWA) opposition and are 3-0 in the Pilgrim Wrestling League.
