Head Coach Kevin Jackson’s team competed at the New England
Open Championships, hosted by Boston University on Saturday, Feb.
26. The Anchormen tied for 33rd place (36 teams) with
3.0 points. The University of Rhode Island won the meet with a
team score of 112. |

Junior
Manny Karngar (Providence,
RI)
was
RIC’s lone competitor and placed sixth in the 800 meters
with a time of 1:53.76. Karngar earned All-New England honors in
the 600 meters, placing first with a time of 1:21.12, at the New
England Div. III Championships on Feb. 19. He earned
All-Alliance/Little East honors in three events, placing second in
the 400 meters and fifth in both the 200 and 800 meters with times
of 50.59, 23.56 and 2:04.42, respectively, at the Alliance
Championships on Feb. 12. He placed first in the 800 meters with a
time of 1:57.02 at the Tufts Invitational Feb. 5. He placed first
in the 600 meters and fourth in the mile with times of 1:22.88 and
4:30.95, respectively, at the Southern Maine Invitational on Jan.
29. Karngar placed first in the 800 meters with a time of 1:55.20
at the Tufts Invitational on Jan. 22. He placed first in the 400
meters and second in the 200 meters with times of 50.58 and 23.24,
respectively, at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 15. He placed
fourth in the 400 meters with a time of 50.04 at the Harvard
Invitational on Dec. 11. He placed second in the 800 meters with a
time of 1:54.68 at the Alden Invitational on Dec. 4. |
