Dana Skorupa Named Little East Women’s Track Athlete of the Week

Providence, RI—Rhode Island College junior Dana Skorupa (Cumberland, RI) was named the Little East Conference Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for her performance at the New England Open Championships on Saturday, Feb. 26.

Skorupa was the highest placing Division III runner in the 55 meters and 200 meters. Overall, she placed 10th in the 55 meters, with a time of 7.51, and 17th in the 200 meters, with a time of 26.33.

She is a elementary education major with a minor in special education, and a 2002 graduate of Cumberland High School.

Head Coach Kevin Jackson’s team competed at the New England Open Championships, hosted by Boston University on Saturday, Feb. 26. The Anchorwomen did not score as a team. In upcoming action, RIC will compete at the ECAC Division III Championships, hosted by St. Lawrence University, on Friday and Saturday, Mar. 4-5.
