 WPI WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL:

FALLS TO RHODE ISLAND COLLEGE, 3-0

 Worcester, MA – The Rhode Island College women’s volleyball team defeated Worcester Polytechnic Institute, 3 games to 0, tonight at WPI’s Harrington Auditorium in a non-conference match.

Game scores were 30-18, 30-20, 31-29 in favor of RIC.

With the win, the Anchorwomen raise their record to 5-4, while WPI falls to 3-7.

With the score tied at 5-all in the first game, RIC then tallied 10 of the next 12 points. The 10-point edge was pretty much maintained throughout the rest of that game. Game #2 was similar.

WPI made it interesting in game #3, leading 15-13. RIC then scored 8 of the next 9 points to take a 21-16 lead. But WPI came all the way back to take a 29-27 lead. RIC then dug in to score the game’s final four points -- thus clinching the match.
