Rhode Island College Men’s Fall Golf Update #1

Providence, RI--Head Coach John Fitta’s team is 1-1 overall.

Anchormen Notables

• RIC opened the 2005 fall season at the Elms College Blazer Invitational on Friday, Sept. 9. The Anchormen placed 7^th (nine teams) with a score of 322. Junior Sean DeSilva (West Warwick, RI) posted the team’s top score with a 76 on the day. That was good for a sixth-place tie amongst 45 golfers. Freshman Lionel Noel (West Warwick, RI) was tied for 11^th place with a 79, freshman Andrew Bernardo (Warwick, RI) was 28^th with an 83, junior Shawn Rebocho (Albion, RI) was tied for 29^th with an 84 and junior Tim Carpentier (Smithfield, RI) was 45^th with a 99.

• RIC and Elms competed in a tri-match, hosted by Nichols College on Tuesday, Sept. 13. RIC defeated Elms, 312-313, but lost to Nichols, 312-304. Bernardo shot a 70, tying him for medallist honors on the day. DeSilva shot a 76, Rebocho shot an 81 and both Noel and Carpentier shot an 85 on the day.
