Coach Craig Letourneau’s team is 15-10 overall and 3-2 in the
Little East Conference. RIC is tied for third place in the Little East
Conference with Keene State. |

Anchorwomen
Notables |
|
• RIC opened
the week with a 3-1 win over Little East Conference rival Keene State
on Tuesday, Oct. 4. The Anchorwomen came back from a 22-9 deficit in
game four to win the frame. It was the Anchorwomen’s fifth consecutive
win. Junior middle hitter Erin Miga (Cranston,
RI)
had 15 kills, six aces and five blocks to lead the Anchorwomen. Miga’s
five blocks gave her 374 career rejections, tying Brandee Trainer’s
’02 all-time school record. Senior outside hitter Kristy Nix (East
Setauket, NY)
had 16 kills and 21 digs, while sophomore right side hitter Sherri
Heard (Coventry,
RI)
posted ten kills. The setter tandem of sophomores Jeanne Rosa (Milford,
CT)
and Amy Souza (Tiverton,
RI)
posted 44
assists with 22 apiece. |

• RIC took
part in a tri-meet with Clark at Eastern Nazarene on Saturday, Oct. 8.
The Anchorwomen dropped their opening match, 3-1, to host Eastern
Nazarene. Miga had five blocks in the loss to become RIC’s all-time
leader, to go along with 13 kills. Nix had 19 kills and nine digs.
Rosa and Souza had 22 assists apiece. |

• The
Anchorwomen bounced back with a 3-0 win over Clark. Miga led the way
with 15 kills and five blocks, while Nix had 12 kills. Rosa dished out
a team-high 22 assists. |

Miga was named the Little East Conference Women’s Volleyball Defensive
Player of the Week. |
