Coach Craig Letourneau’s team is 17-12 overall and 3-2 in the
Little East Conference. RIC is tied for third place in the Little East
Conference with Keene State. |

Anchorwomen
Notables |
|
• RIC opened
the week with a 3-1 win at Endicott on Thursday, Oct. 13. Senior
outside hitter Kristy Nix (East
Setauket, NY)
posted a
team-high 13 kills to go along with 13 digs and four blocks. Junior
middle hitter Erin Miga (Cranston,
RI)
had 11 kills and eight blocks. The setter tandem of sophomores
Jeanne Rosa (Milford,
CT)
and Amy
Souza (Tiverton,
RI)
combined for 34 assists with 18 and 16, respectively. Senior libero
Stephanie Wojciechowski (North
Kingstown, RI)
had four service aces and 11 digs. |

• RIC took
part in the annual Rhode Island Collegiate Women’s Volleyball
Championship, hosted by Roger Williams on Saturday, Oct. 15. The
Anchorwomen went 1-2 at the tournament, falling to Roger Williams,
3-0, Johnson & Wales, 3-2, and defeating Salve Regina, 3-0, to salvage
the weekend. |

• Nix had ten
kills, while Rosa had 19 assists and 11 digs in the loss to Roger
Williams. Nix had 16 kills, 18 digs and five blocks, while Miga had 15
kills and four blocks in the loss to JWU. Miga was the offensive star
in the win over Salve Regina with another 11 kills and six blocks.
Wojciechowski had 12 digs and Rosa had 31 assists in the win. |

Kristy Nix became RIC’s all-time career kills leader with seven in the
win over Salve Regina. She now has 945, breaking Brandee Trainer’s ’02
previous high mark of 941. She has already surpassed her own record
for kills in a season, which was established in 2004, with 391 kills
this fall. |

•
Stephanie Wojciechowski has surpassed her own record for digs in a
season, which was established in 2004, with 406 to date. |
