Anchorwomen Win Second Straight In, 14-9, Victory Over Elms
Gavin, Reggio and Colagiovanni Pace RIC Attack

Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College won its second straight game with a 14-9 victory over
Elms in collegiate women’s lacrosse action. The Anchorwomen improve to
2-3, while the loss drops the Blazers to 0-6 on the season. |

Junior
center Caitlin Gavin (Portsmouth,
RI)
led the RIC offense with seven goals and two assists for nine points.
Gavin had 19 shots, six ground balls, six draw controls and two caused
turnovers in the win. Sophomore midfielder Melissa Reggio (Commack,
NY) had four goals and two assists for six points, while senior
defender Crystal Colagiovanni (Johnston, RI) scored three times
to go along with two helpers. Sophomore goalkeeper Sydney
Culbertson (North
Kingstown, RI)
made nine saves to earn the win. Sophomore defender Marissa
Kielbasinski (Windsor,
CT)
had nine ground balls and five draw controls. |
