Eric Thibault Named Little East Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week

Providence, RI—Rhode Island College sophomore pitcher Eric Thibault (Somerset, MA) was named the Little East Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

Thibault went 2-0 last week, leading RIC to Little East Conference wins over UMass Dartmouth and UMass Boston. He threw eight innings, allowing just three hits, while striking out five, in the Anchormen’s, 6-0, shutout win over UMass Dartmouth on Apr. 11. Thibault threw eight innings, allowing three runs on eight hits, to go along with nine strikeouts, in the Anchormen’s, 4-3, win over UMass Boston on Apr. 15.

For the season, Thibault has appeared in eight games, starting all of them. He is 4-3 with a 4.70 earned run average and 47 strikeouts in 53.2 innings of work.

Head Coach Jay Grenier’s team is 13-14 overall and 5-3 in the Little East Conference. In upcoming action, RIC will play at Elms on Tuesday, Apr. 18, host Clark on Thursday, Apr. 20 and play at doubleheader against LEC-foe Western Connecticut on Saturday, Apr. 22 at home.
