WINS FIFTH STRAIGHT IN, 60-50, VICTORY
Feeney’s Double-Double is Not Enough in Anchorwomen Loss |

Providence, RI—Wesleyan
University won its fifth straight game with a 60-50 win over Rhode
Island College in collegiate women’s basketball action. The Cardinals
improve to 7-3 overall, while the loss drops the Anchorwomen to 6-4 on
the season. |

RIC sophomore forward
Colleen Feeney (Providence, RI) posted her third double-double of
the season with 15 points and a career-high 15 rebounds in a losing
effort. Sophomore forward Josalee Danieli (New Gloucester, ME)
had ten points, two boards and two assists off the bench. |

|
|
The Anchorwomen, who trailed
the entire game and, despite cutting the Cardinals’ lead to two in the
first half, and six in the second half, were unable to get any closer
down the stretch. |

|
|
Wesleyan was led by senior
forward Hannah Stubbs (Arlington, VA) who posted a
double-double of her own with ten points and 14 rebounds. Senior
forward Ashley Mastrangelo (Marblehead, MA) had 11 points and
five boards, while freshman guard Ali Fourney (East Northport, NY)
contributed ten points, four boards, three assists and two blocks. |

Wesleyan has won all eight
meetings between these two clubs. In upcoming action, RIC will host
Little East Conference rival Eastern Connecticut on Saturday, Jan. 7
at 1 p.m. |
