Nigrelli and Silva to Captain Rhode Island College Men’s Soccer

Providence, RI—Rhode Island College has named junior defender James Nigrelli (Ashaway, RI) and sophomore defender Josh Silva (Dartmouth, MA) as men’s soccer team captains for the 2006 season.

As a sophomore in 2005, Nigrelli played in 21 games, starting all of them, for the ECAC New England Champion Anchormen. He had two goals and one assist for five points.

As a freshman in 2005, Silva played in 19 games, starting all of them, for the ECAC New England Champion Anchormen.

Head Coach John Mello’s team opens up the 2006 season at the Muhlenberg Classic vs. Rutgers-Newark on Friday, Sept. 1 at 4 p.m. The Anchormen were picked to finish fifth in the Little East Conference Men’s Soccer Preseason Coaches’ Poll.
