Miga, Sarcione and Seitsinger to
Captain Rhode Island College Women’s Volleyball

RI—Rhode
Island College has named senior middle hitter Erin Miga (Cranston,
RI),
senior defensive specialist Kara Sarcione (Londonderry,
NH)
and senior right side hitter Julie Seitsinger (North
Kingstown, RI)
as women’s volleyball team captains for the 2006 season. |

As a junior in 2005, Miga
was named First Team All-Little East
Conference for the second consecutive season. Miga played in 126 games
in 36 matches. She had 383 kills (3.04/game), a RIC record .328
hitting percentage, five assists (0.04/game), 62 service aces
(0.49/game), 69 digs (0.55/game) and 180 blocks (1.43/game). She was
named the Little East Conference’s Defensive Player of the Week twice
on the season. She is currently RIC’s all-time leader in hitting
percentage (.312) and blocks (432). Miga is also just 46 kills away
from Kristy Nix’s ’06 RIC career kills record. |

As a junior in 2005, Sarcione
played in 125 games in 36 matches. She had
14 kills (0.11/game), 14 assists (0.11/game), 60 service aces
(0.48/game) and 225 digs (2.04/game). |

|
As a junior in 2005, Seitsinger
played in 23 games in 16 matches. She had
four kills (0.17/game), four assists (0.17/game), one service ace
(0.04/game), eight digs (0.35/game) and six blocks (0.26/game). |
