Erin Miga Breaks RIC Volleyball
All-Time Kills Record
Senior Middle Hitter Also Named to All-Tournament Team

Providence, RI—Rhode Island College senior middle hitter Erin Miga
(Cranston, RI) became the Anchorwomen’s all-time leader with 21
kills in the squad’s, 3-2, victory over the University of New England
at the Springfield Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 2. |
|
|
|
Miga now has 1,037 career kills, which surpasses Kristy Nix’s ’05
career total of 1,032 by five. She became RIC’s all-time blocks leader
last season and currently has 455 in her career. |
|
|
|
She was named to the Springfield Invitational’s All-Tournament Team,
totaling 51 kills, a .373 career hitting percentage, nine service
aces, seven digs and 23 blocks in 16 games over four matches.
|
|
|
|
Head Coach Craig Letourneau’s team is 2-2 overall and has yet to see
action in the Little East Conference. The team dropped their first two
matches of the ’06 campaign, falling to Roger Williams, 3-1, and
Springfield, 3-0, on Sept. 1. RIC bounced back to win its final two
contests of the Springfield tourney with wins over Suffolk, 3-1, and
the University of New England, 3-2, on Sept. 2. |

upcoming action, the Anchorwomen will play at Brandeis on Tuesday,
Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. |
