Krissie Pyzynski Named LEC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

Providence, RI—Rhode Island College sophomore goalkeeper Krissie Pyzynski (Bristol, CT) was named the Little East Conference Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of he Week.

Pyzynski has backstopped the Anchorwomen to a 3-1 record on the season, compiling a 1.00 goals against average and a .810 save percentage to go along with a shutout in 360 minutes of action.

Head Coach Denis Chartier’s team is 3-1 on the season. The Anchorwomen opened the 2006 season with a 3-0 win over Fontbonne on Sept. 2 and downed Johnson & Wales, 3-1, on Sept. 5. RIC split two games at the Mule Classic, hosted by Muhlenberg on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 8-9. The Anchorwomen lost, 2-0, to Scranton, then defeated DeSales, 3-1.

In upcoming action, the Anchorwomen will play at Coast Guard on Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 7 p.m.
