Kendra DeGiulio Named Little East
Women’s Soccer Rookie of the Week

Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College freshman goalkeeper Kendra DeGiulio (Warwick, RI)
was named the Little East Conference Women’s Soccer Rookie of the
Week. |
|
|
|
DeGiulio earned
her first collegiate win in her first collegiate start in the
Anchorwomen’s, 3-1, win over Framingham State on Sept. 28. She made
four saves in the win. She also teamed with sophomore Krissie
Pyzynski (Bristol, CT) to shut out Little East Conference rival
UMass Dartmouth, 2-0, on Sept. 30. She made three saves, while playing
the second half. DeGiulio is 1-0 with a 0.50 goals against average and
a .900 save percentage in three games on the season. |

Head
Coach Denis Chartier’s team is 10-1 overall and 3-0 in
the Little East Conference. The Anchorwomen tied the school record for
wins in a season with the win over the Corsairs on Sept. 30. Rhode
Island College is currently riding an eight-game winning streak, the
longest in program history. |

|
In
upcoming action, RIC will host Wesleyan on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 6
p.m., the first night game to be played at home in the program’s
history. The Anchorwomen will travel to Little East Conference rival
Western Connecticut on Saturday, Oct. 7 for a 5 p.m. contest. |
