Sherri Heard Named Little East
Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week
|

Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College junior right side hitter Sherri Heard (Coventry, RI)
was named the Little East Conference Women’s Volleyball Offensive
Player of the Week. |
|
|
|
Heard recorded 38
kills and a .556 (38-3-63) hitting percentage in a 2-1 week for the
Anchorwomen. She posted ten kills, one service ace, one dig and five
blocks in RIC’s, 3-2, win at LEC rival UMass Dartmouth on Oct. 3. At a
tri-meet on Oct. 7, she registered 12 kills in RIC’s, 3-1, win over
Clark and logged 16 kills in the Anchorwomen’s, 3-1, loss to Eastern
Nazarene. |

She
has appeared in 72 games in 20 matches this season with 153 kills
(2.12/game), a .314 hitting percentage and 41 blocks (0.41/game).

|
|
Head
Coach Craig Letourneau’s team is 12-8 overall and 2-1 in the
Little East Conference. |
|
|
|
In
upcoming action, RIC will play at Lasell on Tuesday, Oct. 10 and host
the Rhode Island Volleyball Invitational with Johnson & Wales, Roger
Williams and Salve Regina on Saturday, Oct. 14. |
