Erin Miga Named Little East Conference Defensive Player of the
Week
|

Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College senior middle hitter Erin Miga (Cranston, RI)
was named the Little East Conference Women’s Volleyball Defensive
Player of the Week. |
|
|
|
Miga recorded 54
kills, a .382 hitting percentage (54-15-102) to go along with 24
blocks in a 3-2 week for the Anchorwomen. She missed the club’s, 3-2,
win at Lasell on Oct. 10 with a right hand injury, which is her main
hitting hand. Miga returned with a heavily taped hand to help the team
to a 2-2 mark the remainder of the week. She posted nine blocks in
RIC’s, 3-1, loss to Endicott on Oct. 12. Miga totaled 16 kills and six
blocks in the Anchorwomen’s, 3-1, win over Roger Williams on Oct. 14.

Wales on Oct. 14. |

In
upcoming action, RIC will host Suffolk University on Tuesday, Oct. 17
at 7 p.m. It will be Senior Night as Rhode Island College will honor
Miga, along with senior defensive specialist Kara Sarcione
(Londonderry, NH), senior right side hitter Julie Seitsinger
(North Kingstown, RI) and senior libero Stephanie Wojciechowski
(North Kingstown, RI), prior to the match. |
