ANCHORWOMEN SWEEP SUFFOLK ON SENIOR NIGHT
Greene & Miga Pace RIC Offense With 25 Combined Kills

Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College honored its four seniors in pre-game then went on to
sweep Suffolk, 3-0, in collegiate women’s volleyball action. The
Anchorwomen improve to 16-10 overall, while the loss drops the Rams to
7-15. |

It was the
final regular season home match for Rhode Island College senior middle
hitter Erin Miga (Cranston, RI), senior defensive specialist
Kara Sarcione (Londonderry, NH), senior right side hitter Julie
Seitsinger (North Kingstown, RI) and senior libero Stephanie
Wojciechowski (North Kingstown, RI) as all four started and played
each of the three games. |

Junior
outside hitter Madison Greene (Cranston, RI) continued her
strong play as of late, notching a match-high 13 kills. Miga posted 12
kills and two blocks, while junior right side hitter Sherri Heard
(Coventry, RI) notched eight kills. The junior setter tandem of
Jeanne Rosa (Milford, CT) and Amy Souza (Tiverton, RI)
recorded 21 assists apiece. |

Wojciechowski and Sarcione registered 13 and seven digs, respectively,
while Seitsinger posted two kills and three digs. |
|
|
|
Suffolk
junior middle blocker Kristen Conrad (Hanover, MA) notched a
team-high nine kills, while senior setter Heather Cox (Feeding
Hills, MA) registered 19 assists and 12 digs. |
|
|
|
In upcoming
action, RIC will play a Little East Conference tri-match at Southern
Maine along with Keene State on Saturday, Oct. 21 beginning at noon. |
