Rhode Island College Men’s Cross
Country
Places 29th at ECAC Championships
|

Williamstown, MA—The
Rhode Island College men’s cross country team placed 29th
overall (40 Teams) with a score of 851 at the Eastern College Athletic
Conference Div. III New England Cross Country Championships, hosted by
Williams College on Saturday, Nov. 4. Williams won the meet with a
score of 31. |

Head Coach
Kevin Jackson held the Anchormen’s top runner, senior Eric
Lonergan (North Kingstown, RI), out of the race in preparation for
next week’s NCAA Regional Championships. |

|
|
Junior Greg Ahnrud (Chepachet, RI) was RIC’s top finisher,
placing 151st overall with a time of 29:42. Freshman Jim
Smith (Saunderstown, RI) placed 171st with a time of
29:59, junior Mike Van Gieson (Foster, RI) placed 187th
with a time of 30:32, sophomore David Simpson (West Warwick, RI)
placed 188th with a time of 30:33, sophomore Bryan
Diggle (Scituate, RI) placed 210th with a time of 31:16
and junior Greg Clark (Pawtucket, RI) rounded out the RIC
contingent, placing 234th with a time of 32:33. |

upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the New England
Div. III Regional Championships, hosted by Springfield College on
Saturday, Nov. 11. |
