Rhode Island College Women’s
Soccer
Selected for ECAC Championships

Williamstown, MA—The
Rhode Island College women’s soccer team has been selected to
participate in the Eastern College Athletic Conference New England
Div. III Women’s Soccer Tournament for the first time in the program’s
12-year history. |

|
The
fifth-seeded Anchorwomen will travel to fourth-seeded Brandeis on
Wednesday, Nov. 8, setting up a rematch with former Head Women’s
Soccer Coach Ryan Angel, who left RIC this past summer to take
an assistant coach’s position with the Judges. |

|
The
seeds are as follows: 1. Smith, 2. Springfield, 3. Keene State, 4.
Brandeis, 5. Rhode Island College, 6. Bridgewater State, 7. Fitchburg
State, 8. St. Joseph’s (ME). |

Rhode Island College Head Women’s Soccer Coach Denis Chartier
led the Anchorwomen to a 14-7 overall record and a 3-4 mark in the
Little East Conference this season. RIC established new program record
for the most wins (14) in a season and consecutive wins (nine). The
Anchorwomen downed Southern Maine (4-1) in opening round action of the
2006 Little East Conference Women’s Soccer Tournament on Oct. 31,
before falling to top-seeded and eventual champion Western Connecticut
(4-0) on Nov. 3. |
