Rhode Island College Men’s Cross Country
Places 26^th at NCAA N.E. Regional Championships

Springfield, MA—The Rhode Island College men’s cross country team placed 26^th overall (45 Teams) with a score of 868 at the NCAA New England Regional Cross Country Championships, hosted by Springfield College on Saturday, Nov. 11. Williams won the meet with a score of 57.

Senior Eric Lonergan (North Kingstown, RI) was RIC’s top finisher, placing 81^st with a time of 27:35. Freshman Jim Smith (Saunderstown, RI) placed 190^th with a time of 30:05, sophomore David Simpson (West Warwick, RI) placed 196^th with a time of 30:11, junior Mike Van Gieson (Foster, RI) placed 207^th with a time of 30:24, junior Greg Ahnrud (Chepachet, RI) placed 210^th with a time of 30:33 and junior Greg Clark (Pawtucket, RI) rounded out the RIC contingent, placing 265^th with a time of 33:02.
