Eric
Lonergan Leads Men’s Outdoor Track
at NEICAA Championships
|

Providence,
RI—Head
Coach Kevin Jackson’s Rhode Island College men’s outdoor
track and field team took part in the NEICAA Championships, hosted
by Dartmouth on Saturday, May 12. The Anchormen tied for 33rd
(37 teams) with a team score of 3.0. The University of Rhode Island
won the meet with a score of 155.50. |

Senior
Eric Lonergan (North Kingstown, RI) placed seventh in the 1,500
meters with a time of 3:53.58. |
|
|
|
Junior
Mike Van Gieson (Foster, RI) placed 13th in the 800
meters with a time of 1:54.84. |
|
|
|
Senior Dan
Newman (Smithfield, RI) placed 19th in the 110-meter
hurdles with a time of 16.12. He also placed 13th in the
high jump at 1.86 meters. |

|
Freshman
Max Willett (Portsmouth, RI) placed 17th in the long
jump at 6.13 meters. |
|
|
|
Senior
Rich Palazzo (Johnston, RI) placed 17th in the hammer
at 47.47 meters. |

|
|
In upcoming
action, Rhode Island College will compete at the NCAA Div. III
Championships Qualifying Meet, hosted by M.I.T. on Friday, May 18. |
