Four
From Rhode Island College Earn
All-Little East Conference Honors in Baseball

Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College senior catcher Tim Henault (East Greenwich, RI),
senior right fielder Mike Naylor (Warwick, RI), sophomore
shortstop Josh Cardoso (Dartmouth, MA) and sophomore left
fielder Chris O’Connors (North Kingstown, RI) earned
All-Little East Conference honors for their performance in baseball
this spring. |

|
Henault was
named First Team All-Little East Conference as a catcher for the
second consecutive season. He played in 33 games, starting all of
them. He batted .388 (54-for-139) with 37 runs scored, 12 doubles,
two triples, three home runs, 25 RBI and six stolen bases. He owned
a .568 slugging percentage, a .439 on-base percentage and a .969
fielding percentage. Henault led the team in hits and was second in
runs scored, stolen bases and was tied for second in doubles. |

Naylor was
named First Team All-Little East Conference as an outfielder. He
played in 35 games, starting all of them. He batted .380
(49-for-129) with 33 runs scored, 12 doubles, one triple, seven home
runs, 38 RBI and five stolen bases. He owned a .651 slugging
percentage, a .468 on-base percentage and a .975 fielding
percentage. The team MVP led the squad in RBI, was tied for first in
homers, tied for second in doubles, and was third in hits. |

Cardoso was
named Second Team All-Little East Conference as a shortstop. He
played in 34 games, starting all of them. He batted .398
(53-for-133) with 39 runs scored, six doubles, three triples, seven
home runs, 33 RBI and four stolen bases. He logged a .647 slugging
percentage, a .452 on-base percentage and a .886 fielding
percentage. Cardoso led the team in batting and runs scored, was
tied for second in homers, and was second in both hits and RBI. |

O’Connors was
named Second Team All-Little East Conference as an outfielder. He
played in 34 games, starting all of them. He batted .371
(46-for-124) with 34 runs scored, nine doubles, one triple, two home
runs, 31 RBI and four stolen bases. He owned a .508 slugging
percentage, a .456 on-base percentage and a .878 fielding
percentage. |

Head Coach
Jay Grenier’s team finished the season with a 21-14 overall
record and an 8-6 mark (third place tie) in the Little East Conference. RIC’s 21 wins ties the 2006 edition’s total for the most victories
in a season since the 1979 squad won 24. |
