Kari Geisler Scores 19 as RIC Downs Saint Joseph, 81-66
Anchorwomen Win Tip-Off Tournament

     West Hartford, CT—Senior forward Kari Geisler (Deerfield, NH) led four Rhode Island College players in double figures with 19 points, nine rebounds and two steals in an 81-66 victory over Saint Joseph College in the Championship Game of the host's Blue Jay Tip-Off Tournament.

Geisler, who logged a double-double in yesterday’s, 68-57, win over the University of New England, made a killing at the free throw line, shooting 11-for-14 (.788). She led all players in scoring and rebounding in the win. In addition to Geisler, junior forward Josalee Danieli (New Gloucester, ME) had 16 points, five rebounds and an assist, shooting 7-for-10 from the field.

Sophomore forward Cassi Malec (Johnston, RI), who led the squad yesterday with a career-high 22 points, logged 11 points, two rebounds, three assists and four steals. Sophomore guard Tyla Martin (Cumberland, RI) chipped in with 11 points and four assists. Junior guard Sarah Coughlin (North Attleboro, MA) had five points, a game-high five assists and four steals.

In upcoming action, Head Coach Spencer Manning’s club will host Bridgewater State on Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m.
