Men’s Indoor Track Competes at Coast Guard Invitational
Lonergan & Willett Pace Anchormen |
|
|
|
New London, CT—Head
Coach Kevin Jackson’s team competed at the Coast Guard
Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 20. The Anchormen placed fourth (six
teams) with a team score of 43. |
|

|
Senior Eric
Lonergan (North Kingstown, RI) placed first in the 3,000 meters
with a time of 8:58.91. He also placed second in the 1,000 meters with
a time of 2:37.37 and helped the 4x800 meter relay squad to a third
place finish with a time of 8:39.42. |

|
|
Freshman Max
Willett (Portsmouth, RI) was a workhorse for the Anchormen, taking
part in four events. He placed 11th in the 55 meters with a
time of 6.98, eighth in the high jump at 1.80 meters, second in the
long jump at 6.21 meters and placed seventh in the triple jump at
11.80 meters, |

Senior Dan Newman (Smithfield, RI) placed fourth in the high
jump at 1.80 meters and sixth in the triple jump at 11.86 meters.
Senior Eric Estrada (Riverside, RI) placed eighth in the 55
meters and fifth in the 200 meters with times of 6.95 and 24.33,
respectively. |

In
upcoming action, the Anchormen will compete at the Southern Maine
Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 27. |
