ALICE MULLEN NAMED LITTLE EAST CONFERENCE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL ROOKIE
OF THE WEEK
Freshman Was Instrumental in Key LEC Victory |

Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College freshman guard Alice Mullen (Saunderstown, RI)
was named the Little East Conference Women’s Basketball Rookie of
the Week. |
|
|
|
Mullen sparked a
come-from-behind victory with 16 points, including three triples, as
Rhode Island College erased a 16-point second-half deficit against
Eastern Connecticut on Feb. 3. She scored 10 of the team's 13 points
in the overtime session, as the Anchorwomen outscored the Warriors,
35-15, over the final 14 minutes and 39 seconds of the contest.
Mullen shot 57.1 percent from behind the 3-point arc (3-of-5), while
knocking down 83.3 percent from the free-throw line (5-of-6). She
also logged a season-high five steals as Rhode Island College earned
its fifth conference victory on the campaign. |

For the season, Mullen has played in 21 games, starting one of them.
She is averaging 4.6 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game. |

|
|
Head Coach Spencer Manning’s
team is 13-8 overall and 5-5 in the Little East Conference. The
Anchorwomen have won their last three Little East games and are
currently tied for fourth place with Western Connecticut. Rhode
Island College will play at Western Connecticut tomorrow night at
5:30 p.m. |
