Van Gieson & Fleming Compete at ECAC
Championships in Indoor Track and Field |
|
Middletown, CT—Rhode
Island College junior Mike Van Gieson (Foster, RI) and
sophomore Kayla Fleming (Pawtucket, RI) saw action for the
men’s and women’s track and field team, respectively, at the Eastern
College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships, hosted by
Wesleyan, on Mar. 3. |

Van Gieson
placed 14th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:00.42.,
while Fleming placed 15th in the 1,000 meters with a time
of 3:09.84. |
|
|
|
Van Gieson, senior Eric Lonergan (North Kingstown, RI),
junior
Greg Ahnrud (Chepachet, RI) and sophomore David Simpson (West
Warwick, RI) placed 17th as part of the 4x800 meter relay team with a
time of 8:13.39. |

Head Coach
Kevin Jackson’s team will now turn its attention to the spring
season, which begins on Saturday, Mar. 24 at Northeastern
University’s Husky Invitational. |
