CONFERENCE WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK |

Rhode Island College senior middle blocker Kimiyo Garcia
(Riverside, RI) was named the Little East Conference Women’s
Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week. |
|
|
|
Garcia
totaled 20 blocks and 52 digs through 15 games in four matches as
the Anchorwomen went 4-1 last week. She also totaled 72 kills and a
.401 hitting percentage to go along with five service aces. |
|
|
|
For the season, she has played in 38 games in 11
matches, totaling 156 kills (4.11/game), a .370 hitting percentage
to go along with 15 service aces (0.39/game), 104 digs (2.74/game)
and 50 blocks (1.32/game) |
|
|
|
Head Coach
Luis Carvalho’s team is 7-4 overall and 1-1 in the Little East
Conference. In upcoming action, RIC will play its first home contest
of the season on Sept. 18, hosting Wesleyan at 7 p.m. at The Murray
Center. |
